A Struggle With Thin Hair
My back story
I want to start by confessing that my hair and I have been through a lot. By a lot I mean I’ve been dying my hair since age 15 platinum blonde, then I did a perm, dyed it dark and returned to blonde by doing highlights for another 10 years. And eventually when I almost fully destroyed my hair I decided that I need hair extensions because I simply couldn’t grow my hair back. Since then I’ve been getting hair extensions for almost 5 years, and while doing that I was still trying to grow my hair back. I’ve been taking different vitamins, trying different shampoos and hair styling products for months. I would say my hair is my biggest monthly expense. When I say I’ve tried a lot you can trust me, because I’ve been so desperately wanting to stop getting hair extensions. I’ve looked at different brands that would prevent my hair from breaking and splitting or falling off to finally get my length back.
You will find another blog post about my most loved hair products, but today I want to share my latest find: the Davines brand. I stumbled upon this miracle milk spray at my brow salon, where they distribute and sell their products in the store. While I was there I was curious so I asked a few questions. The manager and another customer told me about their experience with this brand, and I decided to give it a try.
Davines Honest Opinion and Review
Davines First Try
First, I bought the all in 1 milk spray only. It says on the bottle that it helps to untangle your hair, make it shiny, soft and most importantly it protects from the heat. Because I already tried so many different oils and sprays I didn’t really think it would change my hair much, maybe slightly but I was absolutely shocked! I sprayed 5 pumps on my damp hair and I can’t even tell you how different my hair felt almost immediately. On top of that the really nice smell and heat protection just sold me to that brand! Also FYI it looks so much like milk when you open the bottle you might think it isn’t for your hair, but it is! Which makes the product even more unique.
Right after I received the bundle of other products, and I was super excited to try them all. Let me tell you a little bit about each of them.
Davines Hair Products
I know its sounds crazy but after trying so many different brands (expensive ones included) I was literally shocked, because at this point I was pretty sure there is nothing you can do to surprise me lol
I also got an hair oil treatment for the split ends, because my main concern is not that my hair is not growing but that it breaks causing a lot of split ends which has to be then be cut more. This oil prevents the ends from breaking and splitting and also if I put a little bit on top of my head it will get rid of frizziness. The best part I like about it is that I don’t have to worry about putting on too much or that it will come out looking greasy and dirty. The oil does the job without showing the product on my hair.
Body Products
The hair/body/face oil I use as a body wash, being exposed to the sun in Miami made my skin a little dry, and this oil perfectly helps.The body cream says you can also put it on your hair to moisturize it more. I use it mostly for my body, but it can also be used on your hair—I tried both.
The hand soap also feels and smells great! It gives off a rich smell but not too rich and it goes away quickly, feels softer on the skin and is great for winter time when your skin needs a little more moisture.
I will definitely buy more. They also have many other hair product lines that I wanna try including LOVE for frizzy hair.
