Is Dyson’s $600 Airwrap Worth It? Honest Opinion & Review

Dyson Airwrap Honest Review

The Dyson Airwrap has been the talk of the beauty world ever since it launched. At first, people were surprised by the $600 price, but once they saw the big, bouncy blowouts it could create, it quickly became a must-have. Even though it’s been around for a while now, it’s still a popular topic on Instagram and TikTok, where some influencers rave about it while others aren’t as impressed. So, the question is: Is the Dyson Airwrap worth all the hype, or is it maybe a bit overrated?

Why did I buy Dyson?

The nature of my hair is very fine and thin—there’s a lot of it, but it’s really easy to damage. My dirty blonde, typical Eastern European hair gets damaged and bleached by almost anything! Just 5 minutes in the sun, and it’s already getting lighter.

On top of that, my hair gets wavy and frizzy, so unfortunately, I can’t air dry it and have to use a blow dryer. That’s why I decided to give the Dyson Airwrap a try.

How Do I Style My Hair With Dyson Airwrap?

Right after I towel dry my hair for about 2-3 minutes—no more, because I want to keep my hair moisturized—I apply a water-based moisturizing spray to help detangle my hair and brush it without causing damage.

Step 2 is to apply a cream to my ends to prevent splitting, and right after that, I always use a heat protector—this is an absolute must in my hair routine!

If I’m in the mood for something special, I’ll add more volume by applying WOW XL Bobshell —literally the best foam I’ve ever tried.

If I want my style to hold a little longer, I usually also apply DAE styling cream or Living Proof Full Thickening cream.

At the very end, after curling and styling my hair, I like to add some texture with WOW STYLE ON STEROIDS Texturizing Spray, which not only adds texture but also helps my curls last longer.

Is Dyson’s $600 Airwrap Worth It?

Yes and no.

Definitely yes if you can afford it and if you’re as anxious about your hair as I am—it definitely helps ease my anxiety when I use it, haha.

But seriously, I’d compare the Dyson to a Bentley among hair tools. When I use it, I can feel the quality and the fact that I’m using a high-end product, and that makes me happy! Plus, this blow dryer is much quieter, lighter, and really pleasing to handle.

That being said, this blow dryer won’t change your hair texture, or genetics, or help your hair grow—that’s just not possible. So if you have naturally healthy or thick hair, there are plenty of other great options that are much more affordable. I’d recommend checking out some Italian brands—they’re usually top-notch. Babyliss is one of them.
